I am beginning to think that I have a BIOS related problem with a PC I purchased second hand. It seems that it does not boot properly from a floppy disk.
sometimes it will start , other times not. I have tried replacing the floppy drive cable and even went so far as to get an I/O Controller card to test if the problem was in the onboard controller.
The card controller had no better luck.

I am using AWARD Modular BIOS v4.50G 1984
SI54P AIO V1.2 12/02/94
12/02/94-SiS-501-503-2A5IAE12-00

Any information as to a possible solution short of
turning this into a boat anchor would be greatly appreciated.
