Set the LPT1 printer to EPP mode.

During boot up / start up of your computer,
choose System Setup (F2 or CTRL-S or DEL maybe)
Look for a section on Peripherals or Ports.
You should be allowed to set your printer port to LPT, EPP, or ECP.
Choose EPP, Save and Quit.
