"This didn't work with my internal dial-up modem. Don't know why. It's a 56k ESS 56hpi, and recently developed a problem. Any suggestions welcomed."

"Drivers didn't work under XP, but installing the NT driver gave Windows enough info to find an XP driver from Windows Update."

"Contains any of the needed drivers for ESS modems. Worked like a charm. I suggest creating a separate folder to extract all the files ,then install from "System" click "upgrade driver" select from a cd-rom or floppy medium. Windows(ME) auto-searches for the drivers needed and viola!"

"I had a lot of difficulty with these driversand my ES56STH-PI modem. I managed to find other drivers and someone even had a Windows ME pathc that needed to be run after driver installation. Here is the ESS Drivers Page for ES2838 series chipsets. Drivers listed for all OS's. www.esstech.com/techsupp/drivers.shtm#comm"

"If you have a ESS 2818 these drivers will work...although sometimes Windows 2000 will say that the driver was not properly signed and thus cannot load them...the other option is to select the driver under ESS Technologies for the ES56T-PI Data Fax modem (Comes with Windows 2000 pro) and it will work perfectly."

"YES THESE WORK WITH WIN 2k PROF. Now, can someone tell me how to get win2k to actually see my modem? this is weird, i'm used to 98.... i had to reformat to install so i lost all the old drivers."

"Without these drivers my P4 kept shutting down when i tryed to connect to the internet in win2k!! da'mm thing. a warning to people who want a P4, get a good power supply and a box witha lot of cooling otherwise it will overheat!!..."

"I downloaded this zip file and it looks like there are a bunch of files with exactly the same names! When they are extracted into 1 directory, they will all copy on top of each other! How do I organize the files? what .exe file do I run for my ES2838? Please email with answer!!!"

"I have tried many different drivers for the ESS 2838 Modem and I had problems with all but this driver. Thankyou for all of the time and effort that you have invested to provide such a large driver base for free downloading."
