Procomp VIA PCI to PCI Bridge Controller Driver Reviews

con. It may take several minutes for the program to start. Apparently, the program is looking at your computer to determine what it needs to update. I'm running a ProComp MoBo with a 700MHz Celeron. I have 2 CD drives (get this, an Apple IDE 24X drive, and an HP 9100 series CD-Writer). I just finished building this system this past weekend from spares I had laying around. Everything was going well until I needed all these "off-the-wall" drivers. Windows got most of them, but I couldn't get my sound card recognized or my ethernet and Video card. I could only get 640 X 480 res. and when on the web, I kept getting scripting errors at every page. I was able to finally get the ethernet card working well enough to get on line and get here. Found and installed the drivers for my video card (ATi Rage mobility 8 MB card), my Sound Blaster Live 5.1,and then down loaded and performed the VIA chip update and now this old 'puter is working rather well. This seems to be a good update as I've had no freezes or system problems at all. However, like I said earlier, the install of this update takes quite a while. At first I thought my system "had" froze. It hadn't, it just takes a while. It's running, but it just doesn't look like it is!"
