"It works! I have search the world over for a driver that would work on this old, discontinued, raid controller to just be disappointed multiple times untill in a moment of inspiration I check out Driver Guide, and there it was. Great hack.

"Took a couple installs to get XPPro right but it works great. Install only the hack with the first of the two DPT default drivers - not the 3rd optimizer thing. Also use the WNT 4.0 driver, not W2K as it doesn't like the hack. Erock rocks!"

"This was the only driver that I was able to use during the installation phase of Windows XP. I used it on a DPT PM1564U3 (reporting itself as PM2564U3) which is a SmartRAID VI card, though this driver was written for the SmartRAID V series."

"Glad it worked for all of you! I spent months trying to get my Century and Decade cards to work in XP and Server 2003. I saw that someone hacked the SmartRaid IV driver to work in XP, so I simply copied the DPTi20.SYS from the driver disks and renamed it to DPTSCSI.SYS. Can't say it's brilliant, but I'm glad it helped you all out! =-)

"The driver worked wonders on my L440GX 2U server with DPT PM1564U3 controller. I recommend this for anyone needing to upgrade their server to windows 2003 and has a DPT controller. Great Job. I really appreciate it."

"Here's a twist...this driver worked great for me on all SmartRAID V controllers (I have one of just about every model). It allowed OS install initialization from CD boot in 2003 server, 2000 Server, and XP. Now to get to the aformentioned "twist"; THE 2000 DRIVERS PUBLISHED ON THE ADAPTEC SUPPORT SITE WOULD NOT DO SQUAT! Thanks to Erok I am now blowing the dust o
