"This driver claims to be for a CMD 649 RAID controller. I have a CMD 649 dual-channel PATA controller, but it is not RAID. When I tried to manually install in "add new hardware" and pointed to the OEMSETUP.INF, it claimed 'this folder does not contain drivers for your hardware'. It may be that the 649 RAID controller is different, I can't tell. I was able to

"Works well with silicon image card. it won't install automatically, use the 'add hardware' wizard and 'choose from a list' option then click 'have disk' then browse for the folder you downloaded to[desktop is easy to find]."

"XP loads its own driver that can not be replaced by this one. Message says Windows cannot find a better driver than already loded. Could not use the raid feature."
