Conexant CNXT V92 PCI Modem - Driver for 95/98/Me/2000/XP.

The file is 9 meg's, but has all the orignal driver files intact and also

includes NetWaiting and the modem docs (English only).

Install the modem, then run the self-exe zip to extract the driver. Run the setup.exe to install the driver AND NetWaiting (Allows you to pick-up the phone and remain connected online, on hold. NetWaiting must be running in order to intercept an incoming call.).

"The driver\app included in this release works fine in all but the Dell Dimension computers that shipped with a Conexant V.92 Data/Fax modem installed. This IS a recognized hardware compatibility problem by Dell and for those of you still under warranty, Dell will ship you a Broadcom Modem that actually works with these motherboards. "Driver worked okay except v.92b features require activation by host.

In my experience with several, WinModems (Connex) have been way less capable than modems with their own processor.

In my area, modem access is mostly obsolete by wireless if not Ethernet.

  • In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.
