"I have downloaded the IBMScanner0275-011 driver and installed it, but when I try to scan a picture or a document the program request me to install photstudio, what is it and how do I do it? Please help me, thank yiou very much, danny."

"The 14 Mbyte sized EXE named "scanv237.exe" and the device driver download named "sca95106.exe" and possibly the newer SxCenter.exe file probably all have to be used with this suggested tweaking. I am not running XP so the tweak suggestions will be N/A for my Win2k system."

"Duh! If XP's Compatibilty Mode worked I wouldn't be here. the file is not a driver. It is just advice to use Compatibility Mode."

"Good on you John Heggie for trying to make good out of stupid IBM's apathy towards its loyal customers. Unfortunately I could not get much love from the process suggested because "EZ station" (also at driverguide.com) wouldn't install on my XP service pack 3. I guess I'll just keep rebooting to my Win98 partition any time I need to scan.. A hex on you,IBM!"

"This is not a driver, but a read me file explaining how to get the flatbed scanner to work with XP. However, I do not have the 'EZ Station' file that they reference on my system."

"Tried the install from original CD on a new computer. Set for Win 98 compatibility. ArcSoft PhotoStudio button works as does OCR program button. I have Acrobat and it can access the scanner. Unfortunately, the copy, fax, and email buttons don't work. "Scanner not found" is displayed on EZ Station. I have Win XP Professional SP2."

"Follow the instructions only if you are XP, this will not work for Windows 2000 as they do not have this feature to set compatibility as set in the RTF file (Rich Tech File) as note here it is (note below here is from rtf)

"Yeah Buddy: I called IBM for help with this scanner. Naturally, built-in corporate obsolescence dictated the technician's response of incompatibilty with Windows XP. To their credit, they directed me to this website and John Heggie. Thanks!!!"

"Thank you John Heggie! Your solution is simple and effective for Windows XP. I installed the driver and software from the original CD-ROM, according to the directions in the IBM user's guide. Then I set the compatibility to WIN98, per John's instructions. The scanner is slow as it was under WIN98 (it is a parallel-port interface), but it works."
