"Indeed, it worked fine in my case as well. Although I had alredy found all other drivers, I had difficulty installing the driver for SM Bus Controller. The driver helped install all remaining components on the motherboard.

"IF this is the driver that I downloaded before, it works great.

I just loaded a XP Pro, (had XP Home), the driver worked on the Home - so it should work on Pro.

Good site!"

"This driver got rid of the last ? mark in my device manager. It is one that I have searched for periodically for almost a year. All I had to do was open it, then restart and then all was good."

"device driver kept giving yellow flag on compaq presario for sm bus controller, couldnt get other drivers to work, copied files to a cd and executed on the computer, fixed problem immediately!!!"

"All's I know is there was a question mark in my device manager, under other devices, SM bus controller after I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows xp home. Now that ? is gone. Thanks alot, 2 thumbs up."

"Thanks, needed this driver for new XP install. Drivers for HP-Compaq 220 are not included on XP disk. There is no clear download from HP for this driver."
