"Dell Inspiron 8100 with Windows XP SP-2. DVD drive does not recognize CD-audio/data but plays dvd's. This updated driver did not fix problem. DVD's still play well."

"Fault:Dell Latitude C600 reads DVD's, stopped reading CD-R's, now can't read any CD's, (firmware v2.03 A04). Tried other roll backs without success.

Floppy disk DOS install may be difficult for novices used to GUIs.

Once installed, got some v.poor (slow to load/recognise disc) CD fuctionality back, but still couldn't boot off a CD (ie Mandrake 10 Move was too slow

"Installed fine. Before the update I couldn't get the dvd-rom to recognize any rewriteables that had been recorded on to play them and now it does . I have had no problems with it what so ever. For those who are interested I installed it on a KDS Valiant 671DP laptop with a DRN8080B DVD-ROM under Windows XP SP1."

"Loaded this update on Dell Inspiron 8100 with Win XP and DRN-8080B DVD/CD-ROM drive.

Previously could play DVDs but rarely recognised CDs - music or data.

NOW can access data CDROMs and play music CDs, but get an error (Media player does not have a decoder ??) with DVDs. Also had to remove the tick from digital audio (Properties) to read CDs again after DVD had been
