"I have Windows XPx32 and Windows XPx64 installed on the same PC. 1394 net adapter is working on Windows XPx64 but not on Win XPx32. I have downloaded the driver from this site (driverguide),I have removed the 1394 driver from Win XPx32 >rebooted>reinstalled, still could not access the Internet, but could ping localhost (or 127.0.0.1). I would apreciate if somone info

"Follow exactly recommended installation procedure, i.e. remove and re-install the card with rebooting PC twice. Works OK for capturing from camera, not tested as NIC drive (but may work as well)."

"Required constant power cycling of the attached device (External Hardrive connected by firewire) in order to be detected by winxp. On two occasions it failed during a write and corrupted the table of contents causing loss of access to all data on drive. The data had to be recovered by expensive proffesionals. Not recommended."

"I opened the file from ZIP, and as instructed, copied the files into system32, but no sign of a DLL file there. So, of course, the "add new Hardware" on my machine did not manage to use this supposed driver."

"It seems to be able to use as a host driver. However, there is no nic1394.sys. Therefore, IP over IEEE-1394 may be unable to be used."

"I tried to install on win2000 server, but some files seem to be missing: enum1394.sys for example was not there. I want to use the 1394 card as a network adapter. Would appreciate any help on this, especially to know where to download a REAL driver."
