"Worked good after much frustration. Must get rid of MS edition of Umax drivers. Had to find files and direct installation to those files. Go to serach for path. Be sure to write down Path. GoodLuck."

"I downloaded this for the UMAX Astra 2000U. Followed the instructions to a "T", but when it came time for the system to show hardware found nothing happened. It seemed to have partially installed. Showed the Umax scanner icon, but could not get to the pre-scan screen. The only part of the instructions I could not follow was the last step to delete the offending

"Hi,

I use this driver with an ASTRA 2000U on Windows XP and its working fine. Its important, that you actualize the driver in the device-manager for the scanner - otherwise WinXp uses its own driver (.. and that doesn't work correctly - nevertheless its running too - with some poor functions)

I can recommend THIS driver."
