"I'd been using the 3COM USB HPNA device for years, even okay with Win XP, at first. But then my system upgraded to WinXp SP2, and all I got was BSOD whenever I did anything with the 3C420, even uninstalling it.

"I spent nearly a week fiddling with the thing. I followed the instructions, and copied the contents of the ZIP file to the inf directory. No impact. I renamed the old version of the netbdc4u files, and then copied the new versions from the zip file into the directory. No impact.

My machine keeps hard-booting, every time that I try to do anything with the device whenev

"These work great. It gives Windows XP the support it surely needed for these products.

Bubba Do...i dont know what you were trying to do, but these drivers are for the 3com 3C420. NOT THE 3C4130. Read the driver title next time. You said yourself "Maybe you need this type of unit 3C420 for the software to work." Yes you idiot, you need the products. Driv

"3C4130 Dual Link ADSL Modem, didn't work for me or this silly low life 3Com HomeConnect device. Tryed it on 6+ different OS's just to see what the outcome (Win98/SE/ME/XP-Home/XP-Pro/2K Server/2K-Ad Server)would be, but with no promise or foreseeable future of connection to the internet. Maybe you need this type of unit 3C420 for the software to work. Read some of the comm

"Thanks to the author for modifying the 2 files so we can use this product that 3COM won't support anymore. Just copy the 2 files in ZIP file to C:\windows\inf. Plug the adapter in and XP automatically recognizes it. I have found no problems with it yet."

"So far, this driver has worked flawlessly on my wife's Japanese-market Sharp laptop, running the Japanese version of Windows XP Home. We have had no problems whatsoever, and throughput is fine for an HPNA device. Every other driver I tried for the 3Com 3c420 on this system resulted in a STOP error message.

The only installation hitch (minor) was that WinXP threw us a
