Additional Notes

Note that you should update the BIOS before installing drivers - the BIOS update program needs a chip model number which are printed on the controller chip (some brands have trouble on newer motherboard when not updated)

These drivers are the latest (and final) and work fine with windows xp (use win2000 driver).

Also, these drivers _should_ be generic - they should work on other cards using the same controller.

How to Update Highpoint Technology Inc. HPT366 Ultra DMA 66 Controller Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.
