"Trying to get Compaq Presario 1200 to run on Surfboard SB5100 for updates under 98.

kept going in circles. Obviously problems - but could be with USB 1.0 port on Compaq, which is only hole I can use for non dial up access without PCMCIA network card."

"I was really looking for a firmware update for the SB5100, and this appears to be just a USB driver without the firmware update. I don't use the USB connection normally, but I tried it with this driver and it seems to work ok."
