Mitsumi LU002S Driver Reviews

Warning the mscdex.exe may not be compatible with the version of DOS on the machine. This gives the "Incorrect DOS Version" message out of the autoexec.bat. This was my first attempt to download a device driver off the net a attempt to make it work. The machine was an old 386SX box that someone had loaded a newer version of DOS on and it was dying with the above message. I loaded msdos6.22 and got the same message until I got the paths straightened out. This was an old multimedia machine. The standard Mitsumi driver would not recognize the internal cdrom. It was on a different cable from the HD. It would recognize a CDROM if attached to the HD cable. I then searched to the specific cdrom model and found this driver which apparently is for external drives(even tho mine is under the covers!) So, if you get the DOS version error message, you may have to install another version of DOS on the machine just so you can match up the MSCDEX driver. Then do not let the driver package over write it. Or just say yes, and put the good driver in the root directory and adjust the paths according. Otherwise, its a GREAT driver package. I never thought I could ressurect this box. Now for that ANSI.SYS error message......."
