The files were copied from the c:\Windows\inf\i386 (hidden folder) in Windows XP, after the Visioneer OneTouch 7100 USB Scanner was installed in Windows XP Professional.

To install the OneTouch 7100 USB Scanner driver in Windows 7:

1. Extract the files contained in this zip file in a location selected by the user.

2. Plug the 7100 USB Scanner to any USB Port (Windows 7 will not load a driver: Driver Not Found message). Close the Windows 7 Driver Software Installation process.

3. Go to the Control Panel; Click on Hardware & Sound; Click on Device Manager; Click on Imaging Devices; Click on the Exclamation Mark that appears under Imaging Devices; Click on Actio

"I finally got around to dumping XP and installing 7 on my computer. It was then that I discovered that the scanner was totally incompatible with 7 and everything I read said buy a new scanner. I came across this in a web search, downloaded it, and in a few minutes I had a functional scanner again. The install is a little tricky and the driver has a minor bug or two, but

"Unfortunately, I had the same problem as the person above. I downloaded and extracted the zip file. Closed those. Plugged in the scanner. Couldn't follow the directions exactly because the file names are different, but essentially went to 'Device Manager' then the Scanner and tried to update manually by routing it to the location of the extracted file. How to Update Visioneer 7100 USB Scanner Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

Step 1 - Download Your Driver

  • In Windows 7, click Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

  • In Windows Vista, click Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device Manager

  • In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.
