"Hi ) I am about to download the driver for a friend I am giving my Modem to (I now have cable P) On a seriouys note, thanks, I couldnt find the CD anywhere. Jesus Loves you, read about it! Truly, the bible is true, Jesus lives and so will/do all those who put their trust in Him (truly, truly, truly... BUT you must seek, if you do, you will surely find)..."

"Ok it does work, but windows won't detect the driver, and it specifies that it won't work with the hardware. You have to manually add a driver and click modems, then avtek, then the 2000 model. After you run the driver install that is."

"Thank Jerry. i have gone through the whole house trying to look for the driver cd but i still can't find it. my friend told me to check the internet. i went to the netcomm site but they didn't have it. i came here and found it thank you very much"

"iwas lookng for a driver for an avtek cd740 my '95 drivers won't work and couldn't get them from the netcom sight, i'll try this? you never know"

"thanks jerry lost my driver cd this saved me a whole bunch it doesnt have an inf file but that is easily over come so guys if you need a driver for this modem do use it . it works"

then turn the modem on and let windows xp auto detect new hardware

check modem properties, diagnostics, query modem.

if query doesnt respond your modem is screwed

if query responds but there is no dial tone dtected when connecting to the net plug in both ends of the telephone line one into wall socket and the other LINE IN in the modem.

till no dial tone your modem was most likely zapped by lightning in a recent storm.
