"How to make your Visioneer 7100 USB work in Vista

Go to visioneer.com and download the latest 7100.303110.EN.exe driver

Install it using XP SP2 compatibility (right-click, Properties, Compatibility)

Right-click the USB scanner in Control Panel, System, Device Manager and choose Update Driver

Point your driver search to c:\windows\inf\i386 and your scanner will

"It may come as a happy surprise to some. This driver works in Vista if opened with Windows XP compatibility and then used in Windows Photo Gallery. Before this, I had a scanner I could not use. Now it works fine."
