"I have a small huge problem. I have an Intel 810 chipset board and has ac 97 sound, except it didn't accept the max studio driver. I installed win 2k and it picked it up, but on win 98, it doesn't and I have been looking all over the internet for this driver. Am I looking at the wrong place. I don't want win 2k

"Although this WAS the driver for the pc, it took several tries before it finally acepted it. Don't ask me why... but the installation get very tedious, it's still not as stable as it should be, and overall it wasn't a very pleasent experience. Don't blame it on DG - this site is the best when it comes to drivers

"I tried this driver 3 TIMES!, and each time, it tells you how to install it. I did it by the book, and 3 times, it deleted my Windows Explorer. No more Windows for me =(. "HELP! I downloaded the driver and got active sound icons but no sound. Has anybody else had this problem, and if so, how can I resolve it? I've also tried various other sites for this driver, and either my PC crashes (and I have to re-install win98), or I get the active icons/no sound problem.

"I've tried to re install the volume drivers for one week without any success. Don't know wether this driver is good or not but it's the last i tried and it did not work either.

"I tried this file on E-machine 766. I got the dreaded "Blue Screen" I had to format my entire hard drive. It was so bad I couldn't even boot under safe mode. By the way, I have installed WIN 98se on this system. Those of you who have nothing to lose... try this driver."

"Seems to have worked okay putting it on an HP Pavilion 7940 (P5157A)& 98SE (Intel 810e chipset). When I first installed it though, it kept giving BSOD. Booting in safe mode, I disabled all but joystick, MPU401 & Intel AC'97 for FW82801AA. (It was a bunch of Microsoft garbage.) Booted clean after that. Thank

"I installed this driver on my system, and it crashed my system. I had to restart in safe mode to delete the hardware entry. I am running Windows 98 SE on an intel 82801AA chip.. If you like BSOD's download it. otherwize. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS DRIVER!! IT WILL CRASH YOUR SYSTEM!!"

"I was looking for a driver for a MS6178 board using Intels 810 chipset. The driver installed with no complaints, now Win98SE won't load. Just a continuous reboot. Obviously not the driver for this board. I used the SoundMax driver and that did work."

Tried to use this driver on a Microstar model MS6334 motherboard with an Intel FW 82801AA sound chip for on board sound.

Did not work and repeatedly comes up with the blue screen of death - reboot and blue screen appeared.

Managed to boot into safe mode to remove the driver/soundcard and now trying a

"Some files needed by os are miss, but it works by making sound from onboard device can play music, however not all driver are installed into windows, th audio can be hear to play winamp. Not Bad but Not to goods, thanks .Ok,"

"This was an attempted audio fix on a hp pavilion that was recently acquired with 2000 install. The driver did not work for this particular application despite the fact the driver was based on the OS and Intel chipset installed on the board.
