This is the viaagp1.sys file for 2000 and XP. This is extracted orginally from the 4in1432v.zip file from VIA, but it is hard to find, plus you got to get the whole zip and you don't even know what your are looking for. The 4in1 driver is already on driverguide, but this is th stand alone .sys with the .inf and .cat.

"Put on floppy when XP Home complained about needing a VIAAGP1.sys file. Seems to work fine, and installation completed normally."

"This worked! The system could not find the VIAagp1.sys during the install that windows XP Home did not install....downloaded it, opened it and pointed to the CD and the system installed the driver."

"It was only good for using during windows XP re-install, as the setup requested viaagp1.sys. I used this file, but then once XP was installed I installed the graphics drivers correctly and everything A OK."

  • In Windows 7, click Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

  • In Windows Vista, click Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device Manager

  • In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.
