"When this card was new, and I was using the discs (Yes, it came with two, each labeled for a group of cards that were not the one I had.) that came with it, I almost violently trashed the card. I was installing it on, I imagine, a 98se machine. I forget what I did, but eventually I got the OEM drivers to work.

This time, using [I]this[/I] driver (probably onto XP),

"i installed on a combo (sound + modem), this driver seems to ignore the modem part but the sound is ok (with a little extra noise but ok), no hanging or other problems in 20 min of testing"

"Successfully downloaded this "driver" to a floppy, unzipped it, but it was NOT a driver. There was no file extension ".inf" nor anything else like it, even when unzipped. Windows simply cannot "see" it as a driver, either, so I get nowhere trying to use it. Hope someone can clue me in on what the deal is. Is this only a partial file for use by
