"This driver for my Optic Pro scanner is excellent.

Be aware of the German language window during the unzip stage. I can read German, so it was not a problem. If the user does not understand German, then apply your knowledge about unzipping and choosing locations for files.

You'll be okay if you can get past that. If not, then ask someone who can. The driver is wort

"TRIED THE DRIVER AND IT DID NOT WORK. DOWNLOADED IT, UNZIPPED IT, WENT TO THE CONTROL PANEL THEN TO ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS, SELECTED THE FILE TO INSTALL AND GOT AN ERROR THAT MY SYSTEM WAS NOT COMPATABLE WITH MY SYSTEM. DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG?"

"A million thanks to whoever put this out there. Have installed on two systems(XP) and it works great. This driver works as well as or better than the original. The original (shipped with the scanner) had issues with Win 98 SE and Norton AV."

"This is working FINE.

First you need to reboot after Installation. Then You need to configure the LPT (use the Tool provided with this Driver).

The Speed is poor, but the scan results are fine!

"Downloaded tp Hard Disc and care has to be taken which disc 1 or 2 to use I used Setup Disc one but not the main setup or that alters your Internet settings but setup for flatbed scanner works a charm up to 1200 all ok useing on a Compaq 1.4Ghz Deskpro appreciate the drive guide team Thanks"

"I followed the instructions of Bruce Warren and it worked with the OpticPro 9636T running under XP. I have only scanned one picture so far so I don't know if it will work in all circumstances, but at least it has saved me the cost of buying a new scanner so I can scan under XP. Thanks a lot."

"Danke, Danke, Danke. Driver works fine. Followed instructions submitted by Bruce Warren (Tues. Jun. 17, 2003). My Text Bridge software still works. My original software CD is for Windows 95. Plustek "Setup/Application" CD, P/N 22-2B7-006171-5."

"Although the initial screen is in German, selecting "Durchsuchen" lets you browse for a location to extract too. Choose a folder you can find later. Best to create one in say the C drive. Then click on "Unzip". This creates folders called "Disk1" and "Disk2", in the location chosen. Now using explorer, navigate to "Disk1" and double click on SETUP.EXE. Seems to work

fine for me. I was even able to scan at 1200, which did not work with my original drivers on Win98. The aspect ratio used to always stuffed up. So far no problems. Can't use the character recognision software anymore though. Nothing to do with this driver though. Bruce"

"Thanks Roger for the submission. As I don't speak German, I needed several tries to get an English version installed (mostly following Matt Smith's advice). Used WinZip to extract. The advice to use right clicks seemes to be the key, but it is not intuitive. Limited testing so far suggests that the driver works."

"This can be unzipped by right-clicking the file and choosing unzip, otherwise, if you double-click it, it will be in German. I have to say that the Setup.exe file did absolutely nothing. Better luck to you."

"This driver works good. It unzip OK and created its own folder once the setup.exe was executed and my scanner works ok now. This driver is what you'll need if you do not have a driver for your 9636T scanner. Plustek only supplies update but not the orig driver. They will require you to buy a cd from to get it."
