"System :

- Asus P4PE DeLuxe

- Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 200 Go (7200tr) [SATA 150] [8 Mo]

- Windows 2000 Pro SP4 installed on IDE drive

Problem: unable to have the drive detected by win2000 using driver downloaded from Asus web site.

Solution: worked with this driver :

- in bios enable SATE/SCSI controler (in "PCI configuration" section)

at the prompt of FastTrak controler press Ctrl-F

- use the "auto" feature to create un array

- boot and install driver by supplying .inf file when asked by windows

- reboot : disk is visible in device manager, identified as "Promise 1+0 Stripe/RAID 0 SCSI Disk Device"

- go to disk manager and create partitions
