"This worked quickly and with no problem whatsoever on this "new" Win 95a Sony Vaio of my dad's. Required one reboot to install, then when I put a floppy memory stick adapter in your drive, it was immediately recognized and accurately read. This driver appears to be identical to msac-fd2driver.zip also available here."

"I found this info in the HELP file... Might be why some people are having problems with XP. Most computers with XP systems have USB ports... right??? "CAUTION The adaptor supports 1.44MB floppy disk drives that are ISO-9529 compatible. It cannot be used with floppy disk drives connected by PC cards or USB cables.""

How to Update Memory Stick / Floppy Disk Adaptor MSAC-FD2M Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

How to Open Device Manager

  • In Windows 8, swipe up from the bottom, or right-click anywhere on the desktop and choose "All Apps" -> swipe or scroll right and choose "Control Panel" (under Windows System section) -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

  • In Windows 7, click Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Device Manager

  • In Windows Vista, click Start -> Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> Device Manager

  • In Windows XP, click Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> System -> Hardware tab -> Device Manager button

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.
