"Had to give my mums PC an overhaul, one of the problem, DVD/CD ROM no longer working, no lights, Not even displayed in the device driver settings.

First thing I did was open the PC and unplugged the player then reconnected it. Now the device driver has it on the list but thats it, tried the windows way to install the hardware but no luck.

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.
