"downloaded this driver on to my windows 2000 system and when I go to install it, it says "Cannot update for different Type Code. *** NG ** NG ** NG *** Make sure Selected Source File." I am running windows 2000, my drive is a ricoh dvd MP9120a. should this be happening? If not, how do I correct this? Thanks"

"I thought this might not work with the retail version, which is the "mp" prefix. This worked for me because I have an OEM version of the same drive. My model number starts with "rw". You should be able to find the firmware easy enough here or on ricoh`s sight as they support the retail drives. I got lucky and a very nice tech at ricoh sent me the firmware for the oem drive
