"I hoped that this driver would bring me joy, using a 56K ESS 56hpi internal dial-up modem. I don't know why it was unsuccessful."

"This is the correct driver, but the instillation is limited at Windows ME and cannot install on Windows 2000 or above. It did not install the "ESS Modem Emulator" which is required, and it wanted to install on a existing serial port. I picked the wrong driver but the right modem. Maybe a more general ESS WinModem will be the one I need to instll."
