XP installation identifies my 320GB SATA disk as 120GB"

"Maybe it is because I have an Intel p4 board as I had a hard time installing driver,and when it did instal...Ali bios kept looking for a ide drive...when I had a sata drive attached to pci card..and of course w2k did not see drive,and even tried it through setup cd using f6 but no go."
