"i loaded this driver and got full control over my acer surf 56 modem. bench test i done over the net show that the modem now connects at a higher speed than my new 56k usb with the latest drivers. I wasted big money bying the new usb modem."

"to chic, go to device manager and right click the modem underneath it. you'll see a yellow-encircled "?" mark. click on install and, follow the instructions that comes along with it. along the way, you'll be asked where you placed your .inf device driver for your acer modem. just go to that folder then, click ok. after that, click next until windows installs your drive

"to chic whenever you use a driver to any particular hardware, in this case, your acermodem 56k, the extension word, .inf (after the filename), simply means that it contains INFormation that the device driver needs to run the hardware properly. without it, your device won't simply work. above all things, keep a backup of all your device drivers attached to your computer/s

"hi all After i loaded xp into my machine i got mad to run internet as i had acer modem and xp did not support it. After many days on web my search has finally ended (hopefully as i have not tested it)."
