"This download contains two files (HP writer Win9x_8200e_usb.exe)and(hp cdrw_usb nt version xp 2000.exe). I unpacked the files of Win9x_

8200e_usb.exe to a floppy and ran The Add New

Hardware Wizard. It found the cdwriter but couldn't find the necessary files on the floppy

to install it. The package does not contain all

I have not tried the drivers for NT, 2000, XP.

I downloaded another file from DriverGuide right

after this one (HPDRIVER.zip)and unzipped its

contents to a floppy. Installation of the device drivers was flawless. HPDRIVER.zip contains these four files Hpiosata.inf, Hpiosata.pdr, Hpuata.inf, and Hpuata.sys that Windows used to

install the writer. HP writer Win9x_8200e_usb.exe contains none of them.
