"Purchased the Olympus VN-240PC from Office Max (on sale). It was a display model and came with nothing; no cable, no box, no CD-ROM. Was EXTREMELY happy to see that I could get a driver online without having to pay Olympus $20 for an installation CD. I had a bit of a trouble installing, but it works great!"

"Can be harsh to install. First time I tried to install it manually via the setup.exe. It didn't work entirely. It said that a file (not sure if it's a "file") called INF wasn't the good one. After an uninstall and reinstall with the WinXP auto search on the computer, it worked."

"Worked great. Needed it for a laptop without a disk drive for normal install from cd. Zip folder includes Setup.exe which provided driver and software. USB detected on next attachment; driver completed self-installation, and we're off and running with no problems. Thanks for the driver egc!"

"Exactly the replacement I was looking for. Same as what comes bundled with the unit. It's not obvious, though, where the .wav files get saved when you transfer from the device. "This ZIP file contains the drivers folder and the 'US' folder. The setup in the US folder will install (smoothly) the application you'll need to manage the voice files.

The driver didn't install as smoothly - there was a problem with the DriverVersion in the .INF file. If you change the line from:

DriverVer = 03/30/2003

To:

DriverVer = "3.0" See More

"works great. I would have thought the recorder would show as a hard drive, but no. You need to access the program it installs to operate the recorder. Not a bad program. It is unexplainable why Olympus does not have this on its website"
