Uploader Notes

This is a GENERIC USB MASS STORAGE CLASS DRIVER for Win98 SE. It allows WIN 98se to nativly support all USB devices such as flash drives, cameras, card readers, external disks/caddies mp3 players etc, in the same way that XP and 2000 do. They strongly recommend removing any existing drivers first. Took ages to find but seems good, I have tested it with 3 devices, only one of them needed a little pratting around with device manager. Indeed I have discovered the holy grail of win 98 usb storage support !! Search for Maximus Decim on the web to find out more and send the authors some thanks. They have also developed a service pack for 98 SE too with loads of updates. This all works on 98SE ONLY not the nasty 98 first release.

"I have a no name USB 2.0 All in 1 card reader/writer that reads up to 23 different memory cards. A no name brand. Only I.D. on the package was it was made in China. It is plug and play for ME, 2000, AND XP only and had no driver for a 2nd computer I have that runs 98SE. Not having my 2 computers networking together, this driver saved me from wasting some blank cds for shar

"Ranking with the "Don't try this at home" efforts, this driver required computer prowess to load. Once loaded, you're ok. To make a long (very long) story short. I had to uninstall and reinstall my mp3 player software. I also had to reinstall this driver a time or two. It also never hurts to reboot after you load any software, especially something like this.

"I was having trouble with a USB2 pccard, I could only get a few USB devices to work then I installed the NEC open host controller driver I found on this site, as well as this driver. So far everything I've plugged in since works. USB 2 devices including a 23 to 1 card reader, a Sandisk 4Gb U3 flash drive, and a 1Gb flash drive. non of which worked before.

Good work&q

"Fantastic driver!!

Many thanks for solving the mystery of how to transfer files via USB memory stick from an ancient computer to my Dad's new one.

Cheers

Ange"
