"OK. The problem I described before is solved. The scanner is working in case when it is plugged into the electrical socket before I start the computer, then the OS can detect it. In win 9x it was possible to plug in the scanner while the operating system already has been working. Also in the past I was turning off current completely for everything, including the scanner,

hence when I turned the current on, the lamp was also going on what was annoying. Now I turn off only the computer, and the scanner is on all the time, but since I set the lamp to go off after 5 min the lamp is now never going on, unless I star scanning. )"

"There is one serious problem when I switch off the scanner (unplug it), then all these question marks beside the 8 Primax devices in Management/other devices dissapear, and unfortunately scanner cannot be seen by the system, and it doesn't want to work. "This driver works great with XP, and my unit is daisy chained to a Canon film, so it took quite a time to set up, but it works great and I can now keep the Profi, the only downside if there is any I have a question mark beside the Primax in Management/other devices! but it still works. Many thanks Thomas."

"this worked for the primax colorado direct 9600 on Win 2000. extract the .rar file with winzip and follow the instructions in the .txt file. Restart and it works!!! (the scan window actually says that it is for colorado 600p /1200p but it still works so....) Thanks Thomas I have been trying to get the scanner to work for hours!!!"

"The driver works PERFECTLY!!! Thank you Thomas!!! As for the message "New Wardware Found" a friend of mine told me a tip about it. The driver must be installed EIGHT (8) times! After this you get the message "Your device has been installed". Now my Primax Profi 9600 works perfectly!!! Thanks again!!!"

"I've downloaded the driver but I think I'm not installing it properly. Everytime I load Windows XP I get the message "New Hardware found", but Windows is unable to install the drivers. Would it be so difficult to give us a step-by-step installation procedure file?"
