"The same problem as others had: distorted pictures when driver installed under XP. I downloaded the latest version off the manufacturers site www.artecusa.com and followed their advice (Alternate Windows XP Installation). However, I also had to locate the AS6E32.EXE in \windows\twain_32\as6e and right click-properties- select "compatability"-select "run this

"I use this for my Dexxa Flatbed 488, for which I only had win 98 drivers. After upgrade to XP it stopped working. After searching the web, I decded to try this one. First I installed the AS6e and opened it instead of Dexxa. It worked together with my scanner, but made poor scans. I then tried to keep all files in the AS6e folder (which I found under windows/twain32) and on

"First time user of this site....really unhappy XP didn't run my peripherals, and I already bought a new printer before hearing of drivers.com. AS6E now works better than it ever did on my old machine...loaded to a floppy and right to the machine...Photoimpression recognized my scanner, and I am really happy!!! Thanks for saving me at least $100.00!!!"

"O.K. got it. Eventually figured it out. Double clicking on the file on the Harddrive would not work.Used software to "extract" prog to a stiffy(33 files i think) Execute setup from there from there. Worked first time. More options in new software...gr8!! THX Ted...U THE MAN!!Saved me replacing a perfectly, perfect scanner."

"works well for sending scanned images to printer or fax, but i cannot save the image in a or c drives... i wonder why? i use this scanner as a fax machine anyhow so its ok if it can't be fixed, better than trashing the scanner! thanks!"

"I'm very happy to say "I can scan with my AS6E with Windows XP !!!" This driver works, even if it doesn't at the beginning with ViewStation... But after 2 or 3 scans, the AS6E works very well (even with ViewStation !!!) thanks to this driver... THANK U !!!!!"

"Artec has stated they will not be releasing XP drivers for this Scanner. This driver....appears to work intermitantly...sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't......still needs a bit of work...but it sure better than nothing"

"Did not work properly, but worked far better than artec's win 2K driver (with XP). It starts, calibrates, trys to scan....but the image is all over the place...scanning seems to be ok...then pause...the next part of the image is displaced."
