"Thank you very much for the NEC SuperScript 660plus driver. You are the only place that I found it and could actually download something I can use. The other web sites were too technical for an old-young- hearted person like me. I'm not a techie.

"this driver was a life-saver! I downloaded the driver and ran the setup.exe per the Readme.txt. Voila! the printer was installed and I didn't have to run any other setup. Works like a charm.

I had the printer installed and on when I executed the setup.exe.

"It is very very good and true driver for the NEC SuperScrip 660plus, althrough the printer name will be showed as "Minolta ......" after installed. It saved my printer.

Something about the installation here I would like to point out:

First, you should unzip the file you downloaded;

Second, go to the unzipped folder to fine the Setup file and execute it

"i get "printer cover open" message, but turned the printer off and on and seemed to get past that... however, i get garbage that prints at the bottom of the first page every time.. for about 1 inch.. rest of document seems fine.. doesn't seem to matter which word doc i print.. the same result"

"Driver works for me ok with NEC SuperScript 660plus in WinXP pro (both SP1 & SP2). Haven't found any other driver that will work for this combo.

New hardware wizard keeps showing up each time restart tho; just cancel that dialogue.

Haven't tried changing the UPS settings as David described above. But this works: When "cover open" message appears,

"I had the problem of cover open. I did the following steps as said below, and now it works perfectly. 1.open "Power Option Properties" 2.in UPS/ Detail, select Manifacture Generic Model Custom. Leave other options as default. This really works so give it a try! It does seem unlikely it will work, but it does!"

"I seem to have gotten it to work well (XP Home, Superscript 660 Plus). After turning on the printer, I must reset the port for the printer to LPT1 and then back to PW1 again, then the "Minolta" will print perfectly until I shut down the computer. Thanks TK for the driver."

"I have my old SuperScript 660 Plus with a new Windows XP system. After running the Setup program, I can print a test page, but nothing else. When I try to print from an application, the print job never gets transmitted to the print queue (no jobs ever show up there). Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks."

"Win2k SP4 breaks this driver and causes spontaneous reboots on any access of it (including opening a program that has it as the default printer). "OK, I solved my networking problem. I was able to leave the printer plugged into the WinXP machine. The solution was to install the MINOLTA 1100L driver (not the NEC driver) on the Win98 machine. Minolta has made this driver easily available at . The whole WinXP/Win98 network is now printing like a charm on the "Minolta.""

"Thanks for this driver, which enabled me to keep using my NEC SuperScript 660plus, with Windows XP. The printer works fine with this driver. I encountered most of the problems described by others, during my very first use. But, with some of the fixes suggested here, the problems went away. This driver saved me a few bucks, extended the life span of my 660plus. Thanks

"Worked like a champ. NEC Superscript 660plus with XP. The open cover pop up disappeared after restarting the printer and stayed off until computer restart. Not a big deal! However, I didn't have to trash the printer and buy another one. Thanks to DriverGuide. NEC better learn from this example to take care of it's first customers."

"it worked great for xp pro. pulled paper and it showed jam opend window and followed inst. wroks great even maunual duplexing. I jsut installed it as per instructions and did not use tray two and you can deselect it in the program. tx saved me a lot of work as my HP 1220cx1 just went down so I dug this old gal out and it works great maybe I won't sell it now. thanks for yo

"I previously noted I got it to work, but it messed up and I finally got a nice cheap usb port Hewlett Packard PSC bubblejet 750-works great but not a laser. NEC still works well on Win 98. Maybe I will try partitioning the drive on the XP computer and install Win 98 on that partition and it will work then."

"I called NEC. They say it's not the drivers. The proublem is that Microsoft 2000 and Later dos not support GDI Ports. The NEC 660 needs this. The last Microsoft product to suppotr GDI was Windows ME."

"It Works! download the file to a folder. unzip the file. click on the setup.exe file and follow instructions. setup says windows 2000, but I have XP and it still worked just fine. enjoy! I still can't believe that NEC didnt update their drivers for their product. bad move, my next printer will not be an NEC."

"Worked well on my Win2000 laptop. But my WinXP Pro PC gets the "cover open" error. I checked into Minolta and the 1100L also gets this error under Windows XP. In fact, they have now stated that the US (110 volt) version of the PagePro 1100L is not supported for Windows XP. Oddly enough, the European 220V model is supposed to work just fine in XP. If anyone knows a fix

"i have the same problem as john. i have a 660plus and i get the message "cover open" and it wont print. if anyone knows how to get around this please email me. thanks"
