I have computers; one XP and one 98,of which I need to transfer large files. The XP read it as an extra drive no problem, but of course Win98 never knew about them in its driver database.
Once downloaded, click on it to unzip and when you view the contents go to the Action menu and click Check Out. This will unpack the files into a new folder, it will be in the same location that you had downloaded it into. The process makes a set of new shortcuts in your programs menu, and you can then start the install by clicking on the the one marked Setup.exe.
It will then run an install program and ask to restart the computer.
