I think this is what most folk use it for. Only problem is, this cannot be changed cause the mouse properties doesn't have a place to program the button function. Now, if you install the MouseSte v1.8 or the MouseSte v1.8_update, it will install the mouse software and give the functionality to change the button function, but the mouse itself has no different action at all.. so if you use the button as 'back', there's no reason whatsoever to install their software. Now for the non-working driver.. don't confuse a driver with the mouse interface software, they are 2 different animals. If you go by the readme file, and try to update the driver in device mgr, it will not work. XP wants a .sys file and all that's available are .inf's in either of the download files (tried both and the 'xp update' and this one give the same results), so it just says there is no info in this location for your hardware. You start with a Microsoft driver and still have the same one after installing their software, and can't change the driver cause there are no XP driver files in either DL. That is why the mouse action doesn't change, better or worse, cause nothing has really changed except that you can program the button."
