"1st use the win98 installer to let your PC see the SM56K (the win2000 installer most of times crashes on winxp) 2nd remember to set it on COM 3 for a good working 3rd remember to set the exact Country you are in, or the modem will have problems in connection. "It worked somehow. First time when I was installing it, it crashed and rebooted the machine. While rebooting, XP had to fix "broken clusters" on my C drive. I guess its problem with this driver. When it came up finally, it gave message like "SM56.EXE driver can not be found" or something like this. After clicking OK, I tried using the modem and EUREKA..it worked !! I gu
