"Installed a nic with Asound Lan-8139 on the chip and ALM02 label on back of card

Drivers in this zip worked fine for Windows 2000 and Win XP

I have not had much time to assess stability but the nic

worked for years on a 98 system with no problems and these files

appear to be what was on the original install disk (with XP added)"

"WinXP detects my card but doesnīt work and the driver of WinXP is newer, therefore WinXP doesnīt update the driver. I had to force it. Now seems to work fine."

"I was searching for a driver for Asound 10/100 PCI network card with Realtek 8139D chipset ALL DAY!

Even on the manufacturer's site was missing the driver!!!

You can check: on Asound's site there is a link to a zip file what is missing!

This is the one and only usable driver for this card on the net I've found finally.

"Under Win XP this bundle was utterly useless. By chance I went to the wrong place to find a crucial tip on how to get this... thing *cough* finally working.

For Win XP try the "Asound 10/100 Fast Ethernet Card (ALM)" pack and force the Win2k drivers into use as advised in an earlier review there. It took both of 2 seconds for this Asound card to boot up and c

ASound 10/100 Fast Ethernet (AMR)

This driver would NOT supercede the WinXP Driver ( which obviously does not work or I would not have downloaded this )

After 2 days, I have come to the conclusion that my ASound 10/100 Fast Ethernet cards are NOT compatable with WinXP < huge sigh >
