"make a copy on a formated floppy and delete the driver of the DVD from your system and insert the floppy into the drive and restart the computer and boot it from the floppy and let the software being installed and Press "YES" when you are asked. then remove the floppy and restart your cmputer. Enjoy the DVD."

"Create a floppy disk; reboot and run the app - follow instructions. It worked !! My DVD-ROM now reads CD and DVDs in XP (I could not read any files - tried everything). This is a real life saver. Use it."

"I updated my firmware with this download, before the DVD drive just didnt show up in My Computer. After the firmware update, it does not even open or close now!"

"make the floppy and reboot with it ,it just update toshiba sd-c2502 dvd set firmware on my DELL I8200 computer .if looking to restore cdrom.sys for XP error39,19 etc that don't solve the problem

good only for regenerate firmware

"Downloaded the file and installed it but this does not solve the failure to read DVD/CD's. It works fine in DOS and therefore you can easily install Windows XP from the XP CD (ie if you first setup your BIOS to read CD's before hard disk and A Drive). However after you install XP the DVD/CD drive will not recognize any CD. I solved problem by buying an external DVD/CD read

"I downloaded the software to correct a problem I was having with my Toshiba sd-c2502. The DVD drive does not recognized CD's either music or data.

I would like to format the hard drive but if I can't reload Windows XP due to the drive not recognizing the software DVD, then I have a real problem."

"seems to work ok with sp1 and sp2 systems. does resolve the corrupted disk error."
