"All I had to go on to find a correct audio driver for a Time PC I was repairing, that had onboard sound, was the motherboard southbridge chip ID which was VIA 8235.I used driver guide to look up Via motherboards that use this chipset and then searched for audio drivers. I found out the VIA 8235 southbridge chip

"Though it came out as the most likely driver to run my sound card it caused the computer to perpetually loop through boot to 'serious error' and automatic reboot. Nor could I uninstall it. "I have bad results trying to install it for vt1616 at mother board Gigabyte 8vm533m-rz. Also i tryied the driver from the manufacturer site, but doesn't worked too, what make me thinks that my on board audio may be broken. Anyway, you should try this one, while i must try others."

"For ANYONE with a Lucky Star K7VAT+ motherboard with onboard sound, and the VIA VT82C686B chipset (AC97)who needs the sound driver, This is the one that I finally found to work. There is NO documentation on these boards except for BIOS updates."
