Additional Notes

Believe it or not, this driver works for the Alcatel Speed Touch PC Internal ADSL modem (PC NIC card) that the manufacturer has not developed a driver for on XP. It will tell you that it is not XP certified, but it works for me. It will also rename your modem, but a rose (modem)by any other name is still a rose. I think the key is it matches the 1483 Bridged Ethernet designation. I just unzipped it to desktop and specified the driver location during driver update procedure. The people at SWBell do not even know it exists. I spent two hours with them trying upgrade the driver. I took a chance when I installed a non-certifed driver, but I didn't want to blow another wad of cash on another modem. I hope it helps others similarly situated.
