Additional Notes

****THIS IS THE CORRECTED VERSION OF A CDROM ARCHIVE I HAVE OF THESE FILES. I UPLOADED AN EARLIER VERSION AT ANOTHER LINK, THINKING IT WAS THE UPDATED VERSION AS I WAS TOO LAZY TO PULL OUT THE DISK AND WENT TO IBM FTP SITE INSTEAD (ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/ps1aptiva/update_files/bios/), WHICH ACTUALLY HAD THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF THE BIOS, NOT THE UPDATED ONE. THIS IS THE JANUARY 1999 UPDATE. SORRY FOR THE CONFUSION****

This BIOS is for the following IBM Aptiva 2144 and 2168 systems:

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.
