"Samsung sd612 is a load of s***e.Incompatible with WinXp-yet older DVD-rom's work perfecty in WinXP-Samsung do NOT provide support nor do Dell(who shipped this drive to me-their explanation is "revert to the previous OS"-Samsung live update does NOT provide firmware update,I had it running for days!Rubbish.If you have XP -buy another drive!"

"I got my dvd drive working on my WinMe pc. This what I did I downloaded the zip file,then I got a weird message asking to click Alt+enter after that I got a purple screen with a small window asking if I wanted to install the DVD Samsung driver, I clicked OK. After that I went back to desktop.Checked DVD drive and it did work.THANKS."

"Everytime i try to donwload this driver it says i am not authurized to view this page. Can someone please e-mail me this driver? Oh by the way the Samsung sd-612 originally shipped with a dos driver like the one here so it should work."

"After the Blaster Worm distryed my programs, I reinstall everything. Result the DVD player don't work. I reinstall other programs result it don't work . My retailer told me that my "video card - grafic" is not strong enough. True or not???"

"this driver doesnt work its nothing more than the main driver if there are no othersdrivers present. problems with dvd not working in winxp is related to ide mode being set to pio mode both primary and secondary ide controllers both must be set to dma in order for dvd play back without being choppy this problem is mentioned in a microsorft article but of corse they dont of

"This is evidently an UPGRADE to the original driverss. It does me no good as I do not have the original driver to load. I bought this to put into a PC for grandkids, but the DVD is not recognized. Works fine aaas a CD, but can't watch movies on it."

"I upgraded my formerly ME maching to XP and neither my Sony CDRW nor my Samsung DVD drives work. I downloaded drivers from driverguide for both and still neither work. I even downloaded driverguides driver scanning software and it didn't even find the drives or their drivers. So far, this site is a washout as far as I'm concerned."
