"As a driver for WinXP, it was installed without trouble, the test page printed normally. Another black-and-white page of text printed normally. I haven't tried colour photo images yet."

"This driver works poorly in XP. It allows printing an 8.5x11 page in normal print quality only. DOES NOT SUPPORT HI-RES OR ALTERNATIVE PAGE SIZES/TYPES. I didn't buy a two-cartridge, hi-res printer capable of 11x17 prints to cough up drafts. I'm thoroughly disappointed that Canon does not update drivers for XP. I now have a second computer running good old Win98SE for

"I am using XP on a network. The canon bjc5100 is installed on a 98 computer on the network.I downloaded and extracted to C \drivers on the xp and added a network printer. Worked fine."

"I just use the standard BJC5100 driver for win2k for my WINXP... But the trick is to remove the printer cable, install the driver, restart (optional), put the cable back in, and test print... should work like a charm..."

"pay attention retards! No problems with this driver. works well under XP home or XP Pro you must set printer to ecp in your c-mos settings and a bi-directional print cable is a must. No photo printing so stop trying and crying!"

"i installed the drivers on Xp by going to add printer i unchecked the auto detect selected the port whent to have disk browsed to the temp folder where the 8files where unzipped tothe bjc5000 driver works to an extent i have a bc-23 cartridge black it prints the win xp logo but not any text ive also tried word 2000 still no text i think there is a smaller cartridge for the

"It seemed odd that some say that this driver works and others do not work... I thought my hopes were lost when initially the test print failed Ahh, then I remembered, if it is an old printer perhaps the printer lead is unidirectional. "Installed using WinXP Pro standard printer install method and did NOT work. Then used the list of printers and chose Canon and "Browse". Used the unzipped files in the driver zip file downloaded from here and HEY presto! all fine....so far. Thanks Muchly!"

"Nope, no joy. I've tried this driver in many forms including changing BIOS settings and it just doesnt work. Canon suck for this, i called thier helpdesk and was told to take a flying jump, (in not so many words)"

"The Kids crashed their computer which uses the Canon BJC Printer 5100. Canon no longer supports this printer for WIN XP I just downloaded the driver(s) posted here installed them and it works just great. Many thanks."

"Oops! I spoke too fast. Printing is no longer working. I don't know if it is because I shut down and restarted or because I started using a docking station for my Dell Latitude laptop. In any case I've tried removing and re-adding the printer and driver a number of times and have tried it in and out of the docking station. I haven't figured it out yet."
