"I try to install driver on Linux Fedora Core 1.

RPM was installed quick.

Driver has a man page, for sm56.

But when I try to load module, I don,t succede, to load module,

man page is incomplete don't provide clear detail for

installing."

"It wont work on Redhat linux 8.0! The drivers need to be recompiled with a version 3 of gcc. These drivers where compiled with a version 2 of gcc making the module incompatible with the newer linux kernel... can anyone help me out by mailing at micky_b@rediffmail.com thanks in advance"

"in my linux 7.3 pc (kernel 2.4.18-3) the modem is shown as analog devices sm56 pci modem...is this the same driver because under 'analog devices' this is not listed... also even though i remove older rpm and install this rpm the modem still does not work ? help pls !!!"

"I guess it's the driver from the MOTOROLA site ... so it only works for Red Hat 2.4.2 kernels (RH7.1)... if you find the source for the driver, please post it."
