Ok here we go told ya id fix it the un obtainable windows xp drivers haft ta b triked. 1st of all down load the windows nt drivers 4 the usb modem then install them and dissable the newly detected usb modem (restart) I have a smart likk 56k v.92 modem installed.. Maby u should install the drivers by down loading and then opening controll panel and say and new hard ware modem have disk and just instal the drivers. now all this is done reset again when you are done go to device manager reemove the usb device and scan 4 new hardware this will detect the modem and install it as a smart usb 56k modem Hope this helps you I know i had hell geting the drivers
