This is the best tried and tested driver for Motorola SM56 PCI Modem, this is not an official release, but you can never get better than this for your Motorola Sm56 PCI Modem to work with Windows XP.

I have tried and tested all versions of the Motorola SM56 PCI Modem drivers compatible with Windows XP and released by Motorola, and this one gave me the best speed <50kb/sec.> and performance!

"not for motorola mot pci 3 0608dfea40 ... if xp / sp2 returns hardware error or device not connected, replace and upgrade modem hardware to resolve."

next, reboot, and still ok

How to Update Motorola SM56 PCI Fax Modem Device Drivers Quickly & Easily

How to Install a driver from Device Manager

  1. Locate the device and model that is having the issue and double-click on it to open the Properties dialog box.

  2. Select the Driver tab.

  3. Click the Update Driver button and follow the instructions.

In most cases, you will need to reboot your computer in order for the driver update to take effect.
