"This driver did not support the live 5.1 card or at least did not show it was a live 5.1 in device manager. When went to perform upgrade with file from creatives site the upgrade said that it could not find any supported devices for the 5.1 upgrade. I recomend the sb01009x file it worked and the creative upgrade file saw the card as a SB Live 5.1 and worked."

First I got Blaster.zip from here which seemed to be for win ME but that actually recognized my sb at last. "This driver file set, along with another file set I found on this site, solved my problem. I had inadvertently downloaded the wrong driver upgrade from Creative and when I opened it my computer no longer recognized my sb0100 card. The only solution was for me to remove my driver files for the card. But when I went to reinstall, lo and behold, my SB Live 5.1 CD was missing!

"Works well with Win'98 but do not try to use with Win'XP. Win'XP is far too advanced for such an OLD driver Pak. Besides 'XP' comes with better drivers anyway even if they are generic. If you are using these drivers to get sound for the Old 'DOS' games, make sure your O.S. is (WIN'95/'98/'98se or Millenium), otherwise use XP's drivers and 'Win XP-Compatibility' to set it t

"it hung when attempting to restart, then some of the display drivers kind of reset. And need to be re-installed. All worked fine after re-installing the VGA drivers. I think some registry entries were deleted, so need to run some reg maintainance tools. Not sure if it was due to this driver, but it happened during the installation process. Use with caution.

"This driver is the same as the WIN98 driver SB_live_5.1.zip. It clearly states that it is for WIN2000,XP etc when plainly it isn't. Very dissappointed!"

"THANX a bunch! I decided to take XP off my system and to put ME back on. But, guess what? I threw away the CD that came with my card. THEN, I downloaded the file from creative's site only to be told that the card was not found on my system. What bullsh*t!! I will think long an hard before buying another f*cking creative product..."

"Thanks for the driver! Worked perfectly. What is Creative's problem? I did a driver search for "SB0100", it came up with the SBLive! MP3+/Gamer. When I tried to install it, it told me that it could not find the card! You don't need to tell me if I have it or not just install it! From a programmer's prospective, this is just bad."

"i tried this driver with 2 cards, pc crashed constantly, the cards were second hand, i cant say if the fault was with the driver or the cards, needless to say i removed card and driver from my machine"
